Wonjoon Moon

Director

Wonjoon Moon currently serves as a research assistant professor in the Department of Dental Biomaterials Science at Seoul National University. Before this role, Dr. Moon held a postdoctoral research fellowship at Harvard Medical School and the Wellman Center for Photomedicine at Massachusetts General Hospital.


Dr. Moon, a biomaterials scientist and dentist, has extensive clinical experience from institutions like Stanford Health Care and Seoul National University Dental Hospital. This experience has greatly informed his research, which focuses on developing innovative optical and oral biomaterials, as well as biomedical optics. His research endeavors have attracted funding from prestigious organizations such as the US Department of Defense and the South Korean Ministry of Health and Welfare.


Dr. Moon aspires to impact society beyond academia and healthcare. He is dedicated to leveraging his scientific and biomedical expertise to drive progress in science, technology, and the South Korean economy. He sees himself as a catalyst for national development, peace promotion, and enhanced international cooperation.


Dr. Moon's academic credentials include a B.S. from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), followed by a D.D.S. and Ph.D. from Seoul National University.
