Lawrence J. Jang

Lawrence J. Jang has been with Samsung for over 30 years. His research focuses on theoretical and experimental aspects of nano-scale LEDs, OLEDs, short pulse laser applications, advanced packaging, ultra-fine pitch bonding, hybrid bonding, glass inter-posers, optical filters, and optical telecommunications. Dr. Jang has published more than 250 patents under his name and has received five excellent paper awards as the lead author over the past five years.

Dr. Jang received a Ph. D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Cambridge, UK, where he also held a research assistantship. Prior to that, he spent three years as a Ph. D. student in the Optoelectronics Department at the University of Southampton, supported by a full scholarship from Samsung Electronics. He also holds M.S. and B.S. degrees in materials science from POSTECH, South Korea.
