About Us

The Korea Council for Peace and Cooperation (KCPC) is a non-profit organization with the goal of promoting peace on the Korean Peninsula. We believe that fostering reconciliation and exchanges between North and South Korea, in collaboration with the international community, can contribute to this mission. KCPC encourages participation from experts, ordinary citizens, both domestic and international, to enhance understanding of the situation on the Korean Peninsula and to build consensus for lasting peace in the region.

Promoting, preserving, and advocating peace for all people on the Korea Peninsula

  • With wars and conflicts raging around the world, peace is more precious than anything else. In the face of a new international order marked by geopolitical confrontation, the peace we currently enjoy is more precarious than ever before. For those of us living on the Korean Peninsula, a region plagued by rising tensions and the threat of catastrophic conflicts, the need to preserve and promote peace is more pressing than ever, for the sake of people in both the North and South, as well as current and future generations.

Aspiring for preservation of the beautiful natural environment and ecosystems of the Korean Peninsula

  • To preserve our prosperous life on the Korean Peninsula, the KCPC yearns for peaceful coexistence between North and South Korea by reducing tensions and expanding exchange and cooperation. We aspire to achieve lasting peace between the two Koreas so that the peaceful lives we currently enjoy will not be lost, and the beautiful natural environment and ecosystems of the Korean Peninsula, our shared home, will be preserved for future generations to inherit and thrive in.

Enhancing international cooperation to promote peace on the Korean Peninsula

  • To realize this aspiration, we need the support and cooperation of the international community. The KCPC promotes public diplomacy to expand cooperation between Korea and the international community in various fields such as culture, art, business, education, and academia in order to build consensus on the need for peace on the Korean Peninsula. Through the expansion of cooperation in the private sector, we aim to help the international community better understand and empathize with the need for peace on the Korean Peninsula and to help the Korean people better appreciate the role of the international community in building peace and eventually achieving peaceful unification of Korea. We believe that peace on the Korean Peninsula is critical for peace and stability in East Asia and the rest of the world.
